The Travel Agents Association of India (TAAI) has marked a significant milestone in its 75-year journey with the inauguration of its new National Secretariat in Mumbai on 11 August 2026. The new office represents an important step in strengthening the association’s institutional presence as it enters the next phase of its journey in India’s travel, tourism and hospitality sector.
Located in a well-connected complex near Terminal 2 of Mumbai International Airport, the new Secretariat spans approximately 1,100 sq. ft. and has been designed to provide a more functional and contemporary working environment. The facility includes a dedicated conference room for Managing Committee meetings, offices for officers and staff, and spaces for members and visitors.
The inauguration brought together TAAI’s Managing Committee, regional and chapter leadership, members, past presidents and representatives from across the travel, tourism and hospitality ecosystem. TAAI President Sunil Kumar R formally inaugurated the premises alongside former presidents Mahendra K. Sanghi, Cyrus Guzder, Ashwini Kakkar and Iqbal Mulla, bringing together different generations of the association’s leadership.
The presence of past presidents added a strong sense of continuity to the occasion. Their participation and reflections highlighted the evolution of TAAI over the decades and the contribution of successive leadership teams to building the association’s institutional foundation.
Speaking on the occasion, Sunil Kumar R described the new Secretariat as an important institutional accomplishment and a key milestone in TAAI’s 75 Years of Excellence celebrations. He dedicated the achievement to TAAI’s members and acknowledged the continued support of the Managing Committee, regional and chapter leadership, with particular appreciation for the TAAI Western Region.
The celebrations continued with an industry gathering hosted by the TAAI Western Region. The evening brought together industry stakeholders and former regional leaders, who were felicitated for their contribution to the association’s growth. A presentation tracing TAAI’s journey, achievements and future vision further added to the significance of the occasion.
The new Secretariat is therefore more than a new administrative address. As TAAI celebrates 75 years, it represents the association’s institutional strength, legacy and continued commitment to the travel and tourism industry. With a permanent space designed for greater engagement and collaboration, the Secretariat is set to support TAAI as it looks towards the opportunities and challenges shaping India’s evolving travel ecosystem.
