Lufthansa has announced the launch of a new nonstop flight connecting Frankfurt and Kuala Lumpur, further strengthening its presence in Southeast Asia as part of its Winter 2026/27 schedule. The new long-haul service is scheduled to begin on October 25, 2026, and will operate five times a week, running daily except on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Flights on the route are already available for booking.

The route will be operated using the modern Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner, one of the most efficient aircraft in Lufthansa’s fleet. The aircraft is configured with 287 seats across three travel classes and will feature Lufthansa’s latest Allegris cabin concept, designed to deliver enhanced comfort and a premium travel experience for passengers.

According to the announced schedule, Flight LH704 will depart Frankfurt at 21:30, arriving in Kuala Lumpur at 16:40 local time the following day. The return service, Flight LH705, will depart Kuala Lumpur at 23:55 and land in Frankfurt at 06:00 the next morning. The timings have been designed to provide seamless onward connections through Lufthansa’s Frankfurt hub to destinations across Europe and North America.

Commenting on the launch, Jens Ritter highlighted that the new route reflects Lufthansa’s strategy to expand in fast-growing Asian markets. He noted that the deployment of the modern Dreamliner and the innovative Allegris cabin will offer both leisure and business travelers a high-quality travel experience while supporting the airline’s premium positioning.

Malaysia represents a key market for the airline. The country welcomed over 42 million visitors in 2025, making it one of Southeast Asia’s most popular travel destinations. In addition, Germany remains Malaysia’s most important trading partner within the European Union, with more than 700 German companies operating in the country, creating strong demand for business travel between the two regions.

With the addition of Kuala Lumpur, Lufthansa further strengthens its Southeast Asian network, joining existing destinations such as Bangkok, Singapore, and Phuket.
