The largest-ever edition of IMEX Frankfurt officially opened today, marking a significant milestone for the global meetings and events industry. Running from May 20 to 22, the show boasts its biggest exhibitor floor space to date and is hosting nearly 3,000 exhibiting companies from across the globe.

This year’s event reflects a buoyant and forward-looking industry, with a diverse array of destinations, venues, hotel groups, and technology providers represented on the show floor. The scale and international diversity underscore strong momentum and renewed confidence in face-to-face business.

European Growth Leads Global Showcase

European destinations have expanded their presence more than any other region, making Europe the largest geographical representation at the event. The Middle East follows closely behind in terms of growth. Hotel groups comprise the second-largest section of the floor, with the sector also introducing the highest number of new exhibitors this year, including Barceló Hotel Group, Beachcomber Resorts & Hotels, and Unique Resorts Pvt Ltd.

Overall, 15% of booths are first-time participants, hailing from regions such as Africa (Seychelles, Kenya), Asia (Pattaya), Europe (Cyprus, Wales), the Middle East (Ajman, Saudi Arabia), and South America (Peru). Many exhibitors are enhancing their presence with creative booth designs—from Buenos Aires’ inflatable cocktail bar and New Zealand’s hobbit-inspired display to nature-infused biophilic designs.

Over 4,000 Buyers Set to Attend

More than 4,000 registered buyers are expected to engage with global suppliers over the next three days, reinforcing the critical value of face-to-face meetings, insightful business dialogue, and authentic relationship-building within the business events community.

Enhanced Tech and Experiential Learning Take Center Stage

The newly upgraded IMEX Events App, sponsored by Visit Monaco, helps buyers streamline their schedules and book meetings on the go. Meanwhile, over 200 educational sessions are being delivered through the Inspiration Hub and other venues across the show floor. Learning is structured across nine themed tracks, including IMEX’s central Talking Point, “Impact,” and features new formats, standout speakers, and surprise elements.

Immersive activations are also a key highlight, with features like a giant mirror box, tape art installations, musical performances, and a large-scale paint-by-numbers display designed to spark creativity and interaction. Quiet zones throughout the venue offer spaces for rest, reflection, and wellness.

With a record-breaking scale and a vibrant, future-focused agenda, IMEX Frankfurt 2025 is shaping up to be a pivotal gathering for the global business events industry.
