Thomas Cook (India) Limited and its group company SOTC Travel have entered into a long-term strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Vinpearl, Vietnam’s leading hospitality, tourism, and entertainment brand, to enhance travel experiences for Indian travellers and strengthen Vietnam’s positioning as a preferred outbound destination. The agreement was officially signed by Abraham Alapatt, President & Group Head – Marketing, Service Quality, Value Added Services & Innovation at Thomas Cook India and SOTC Travel, along with Ngo Thi Huong, CEO of Vinpearl.
The collaboration combines Thomas Cook India and SOTC’s extensive omnichannel travel expertise and consumer reach with Vinpearl’s expansive portfolio of luxury hospitality, entertainment, golf, and MICE infrastructure across Vietnam. As part of the partnership, Vinpearl will be positioned as a preferred Vietnam partner with exclusive inventory access and priority availability for Indian customers.
Importantly, the agreement also marks Vinpearl’s first investment initiative in India’s travel and tourism sector, laying the foundation for a comprehensive tourism ecosystem designed specifically for Indian travellers. The alliance aims to create seamless and curated experiences across leisure, corporate travel, MICE, destination weddings, and experiential tourism segments.
Vinpearl’s growing portfolio includes world-class resorts, theme parks, convention centres, and golf courses across destinations such as Phu Quoc, Nha Trang, Da Nang, Nam Hoi An, Ha Long, and Hai Phong. The company currently operates 60 properties across 20 provinces and cities in Vietnam, including over 17,300 hotel rooms, 15 VinWonders theme parks, six golf courses, and three VinPalace convention centres.
Speaking on the partnership, Abraham Alapatt highlighted Vietnam’s emergence as one of the fastest-growing destinations for Indian outbound travellers and emphasised the immense opportunity to combine Thomas Cook India and SOTC’s strong market presence with Vinpearl’s luxury hospitality ecosystem.
Ngo Thi Huong, CEO of Vinpearl, stated that India remains a key strategic market for the company’s international expansion plans. She added that the partnership would help develop customised offerings for Indian consumers while strengthening Vietnam’s positioning as a globally competitive tourism destination.
