Odisha Governor Hari Babu Kambhampati highlighted that tourism is not just an economic driver, but a powerful tool for connecting people, cultures, and traditions. He shared these thoughts on Friday while attending the Andhra Pradesh Tourism roadshow in Bhubaneswar. The Governor commended Andhra Pradesh’s proactive initiatives to promote tourism and enhance its relationship with Odisha. He expressed that the event had a special significance for him, both as the Governor of Odisha and as a native of Andhra Pradesh.
In his speech, Governor Kambhampati praised the diverse tourism offerings of Andhra Pradesh, which include breathtaking landscapes, rich heritage sites, and spiritual landmarks. He pointed out the architectural wonders of Amaravati, the tranquil beaches of Visakhapatnam, and the sacred temples of Tirupati, each representing a unique facet of the state’s cultural and natural beauty. “Andhra Pradesh presents a multitude of experiences, ranging from historical and architectural marvels to serene spiritual destinations,” he noted.
The Governor also emphasized the significant tourism potential of both Odisha and Andhra Pradesh, explaining that the attractions of the two states complement each other. Odisha’s famed beaches, the iconic Jagannath temple, the historic Konark Sun temple, its rich tribal culture, and diverse eco-tourism destinations, combined with the offerings of Andhra Pradesh, create a wealth of opportunities for travelers. Governor Kambhampati suggested that together, these states can provide a more enriching and immersive experience for tourists, blending spiritual, cultural, and natural elements in an unforgettable way.
The roadshow, which was organized by the Andhra Pradesh Tourism Department in collaboration with the Andhra Pradesh Tourism Forum, aimed to foster deeper collaboration between the two states and to promote their collective tourism assets. Governor Kambhampati’s remarks underscored the importance of building strong regional ties and leveraging shared resources to enhance the tourism industry, not only as a means of economic growth but as a bridge to greater cultural understanding and mutual respect.
