In a progressive step toward aligning education with industry needs, the Network of Indian MICE Agents (NIMA) and Jaipuria School of Business (JSB) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to strengthen career readiness among students in the tourism and hospitality sector, particularly focusing on the Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions (MICE) industry.
The MoU, signed on May 28, 2025, marks a pivotal moment in industry-academia collaboration aimed at fostering talent that meets the evolving demands of India’s growing MICE sector. Through this partnership, both institutions will work closely to create an immersive and practical learning environment for students.
The initiative includes a wide range of benefits such as an industry-aligned curriculum, live projects, internships with MICE organizations, and interactive workshops led by industry professionals. Faculty development and specialized training modules will also be introduced to enhance teaching quality and industry orientation within JSB’s Tourism & Hospitality programs.
The MoU was signed in the presence of prominent representatives from both sides. From Jaipuria School of Business, the dignitaries included Dr. Rajiv R Thakur, Director General; Dr. Tapan K. Nayak, Dean; Dr. Nitin K. Saxena and Dr. Namita Nath, Program Chairs; and Dr. Monika Aggarwal, Associate Professor. Representing NIMA were Mr. Gajesh Girdhar, Founder and Chairman Governing Council; Mr. Rakesh Arora, Founder and Coordinator – Admin, Finance & Membership; and Mr. Vikas Khanduri, Advisor.
Mr. Gajesh Girdhar, along with Dr. Thakur and Dr. Nayak, officially formalized the agreement, highlighting their mutual vision of creating a skilled and industry-aware talent pool. The collaboration also aims to foster innovation and entrepreneurship among students by giving them early exposure to real-world MICE operations.
The partnership reaffirms both NIMA and JSB’s commitment to nurturing the next generation of tourism professionals who are capable of driving India’s ambitions as a global MICE destination. It’s a step toward ensuring that young professionals are not only academically proficient but also industry-ready.
This MoU is expected to set a precedent for other institutions to collaborate with industry bodies, thereby bridging the crucial gap between classroom learning and real-world business expectations in the tourism domain.
