Kerala is set to host the country’s first-ever Wedding and MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) Conclave in Kochi from August 14 to 16, 2025. Organised by the Kerala Travel Mart (KTM) Society in association with the Government of Kerala, the event aims to position the state as a premier destination for wedding and MICE tourism.
The conclave will be inaugurated on August 14 at the Grand Hyatt, Bolgatty Island, with Chief Minister Shri Pinarayi Vijayan expected to attend. The following two days will witness business meetings and expert-led seminars at Le Meridien, Kundannur, running from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
Tourism and PWD Minister Shri P.A. Mohamed Riyas highlighted that the idea for the conclave originated from discussions during the 12th edition of KTM in 2024, where the Chief Minister emphasized Kerala’s potential as a hub for wedding and honeymoon tourism. The conclave reflects a strategic push to leverage global trends and elevate Kerala’s status in the international tourism market.
According to Kerala Tourism Secretary Shri K. Biju, the state offers a rich mix of locations ideal for MICE and wedding events, including Kochi, Munnar, Kumarakom, Kollam, Kovalam, Thrissur, Kozhikode, Wayanad, and Bekal. With stunning backwaters, beaches, hill stations, heritage architecture, and vibrant cuisine, Kerala is well-positioned to cater to both domestic and international clientele in this segment.
Kerala Tourism Director Smt. Sikha Surendran stated that the conclave will also feature training workshops, advanced marketing strategies, and technology integration in collaboration with leading companies in the wedding and MICE industry. Delegates will participate in curated site visits across prominent destinations, showcasing the state’s infrastructural capabilities and tourism appeal.
KTM Society President Shri Jose Pradeep added that the event will include B2B meetings, cultural showcases, and exhibitions, offering networking opportunities for wedding planners, tour operators, hoteliers, and venue managers. Traditional art forms like Kathakali, Carnatic music, and regional culinary experiences will enhance the cultural richness of the conclave. An exhibition segment will feature service providers from both the wedding and MICE sectors, including hotels, resorts, event planners, photographers, caterers, and bridal service specialists, shared KTM Society Secretary Shri S. Swaminathan. The conclave marks a significant milestone in Kerala’s tourism roadmap, aiming to attract a broader, high-value segment of global travelers.
