IAAPA, the global association representing the attractions industry, has announced that the inaugural IAAPA Expo Middle East will not proceed as originally planned, following a decision by its Board of Directors.

The decision comes amid the evolving situation in the Middle East, with the association placing the safety and well-being of its members, exhibitors, attendees, partners, and stakeholders as its top priority.

The Board’s resolution follows extensive consultations with key industry stakeholders, including the IAAPA EMEA Regional Advisory Board, IAAPA EMEA Manufacturers & Suppliers Committee, the MENALAC Board of Directors, along with exhibitors, speakers, and regional members.

“This was not an easy decision,” said Jakob Wahl, President and CEO, IAAPA. “We recognize the time, investment, and commitment of our members and partners dedicated to what would have been the inaugural IAAPA Expo Middle East. We are grateful for their support and understanding as we prioritize the safety and best interests of our global community.”

IAAPA has confirmed that it will directly communicate with exhibitors, sponsors, speakers, and registered attendees regarding the next steps and support measures.

Despite the postponement, IAAPA has reaffirmed its long-term commitment to the Middle East’s growing attractions and leisure industry. The IAAPA Expo Middle East is now scheduled to take place from 12–15 April 2027, with the association aiming to convene the industry under more stable conditions.
