Air India Express has commenced its inaugural direct service between Navi Mumbai International Airport (NMIA) and Abu Dhabi, marking a significant milestone in the airport’s international operations. The new route makes Abu Dhabi the first overseas destination served from NMIA, further strengthening air connectivity between India and the UAE.

To celebrate the launch, the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi (DCT Abu Dhabi) welcomed the first passengers and hosted airline representatives, travel trade partners, and members of the Indian media. The initiative highlights the growing tourism and aviation partnership between the two destinations while showcasing Abu Dhabi’s attractions to Indian travellers.

Initially operating twice a week, the service will expand to three weekly flights, offering travellers greater flexibility for leisure, business, and MICE travel. The route is also expected to support trade, strengthen cultural exchanges, and provide seamless access to Abu Dhabi’s expanding tourism and convention infrastructure. As Navi Mumbai International Airport continues to expand its global network, the launch reinforces its role as a key international gateway for the Mumbai Metropolitan Region and western India.
