Thomas Cook (India) Limited has signed a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Government of Gujarat (Gujarat Tourism) to strengthen the state’s positioning as a leading leisure, business and experiential tourism destination across India. The MoU was signed on January 12, 2026, at Marwadi University, Rajkot, during the Vibrant Gujarat Summit 2026, marking a significant step toward building stronger public–private collaboration in tourism promotion.

The agreement was formalised by Ravindrasinh Jadeja, Officer on Special Duty, Tourism Department, Government of Gujarat, and Romil Pant, Executive Vice President & Business Head – Leisure, Thomas Cook (India) Limited, in the presence of senior state dignitaries and industry stakeholders. The partnership brings together Gujarat Tourism’s destination development vision with Thomas Cook India’s extensive pan-India omnichannel distribution network, strong consumer insights, product innovation capabilities and proven marketing expertise.

Through this collaboration, both parties aim to significantly enhance Gujarat’s visibility and preference among Indian travellers, while driving stronger travel intent, conversions and on-ground visitation across key domestic source markets. The focus will be on showcasing the state’s wide-ranging tourism offerings, including heritage, culture, spirituality, wildlife, nature and experiential travel.

Beyond destination marketing, the MoU also places strong emphasis on capacity building and knowledge enhancement. Structured training programmes will be conducted for Thomas Cook India’s travel consultants and channel partners, enabling them to become more effective destination advocates equipped with deeper product knowledge, storytelling ability and selling skills for Gujarat’s diverse tourism circuits.

The agreement also provides that the Government of Gujarat will support Thomas Cook India in securing necessary permissions, registrations and approvals in accordance with prevailing state policies, ensuring smooth execution of joint initiatives.
