The Travel Agents Association of India (TAAI) has kicked off its milestone 75th anniversary journey, with TAAI President Sunil Kumar R declaring 2026 a “landmark year” as celebrations through the travel and tourism industry continue to gain momentum.
In his New Year message to India’s travel fraternity, Sunil Kumar highlighted TAAI’s longstanding legacy and leadership in the sector, emphasizing that the association’s diamond jubilee year will be a defining chapter in its history. He described the current phase as a “never-before time” for TAAI’s members and partners.
As part of the anniversary campaign, TAAI has already rolled out a series of engagements and strategic initiatives designed to spotlight its contributions to Indian travel and tourism since its inception in 1951. These activities, which extend into 2026, will underscore TAAI’s commitment to innovation, collaboration and sector growth.
Preparations for the anniversary celebrations began with the launch of a commemorative logo and year-long campaign themed “Connect, Collaborate, and Celebrate,” unveiled at an industry event in New Delhi in early 2025. This initiative is aimed at reinforcing TAAI’s pivotal role in shaping industry priorities and fostering stronger partnerships across the travel ecosystem.
With an ambitious slate of activities planned through 2026, the association is expected to host special events, member engagements, industry forums and outreach initiatives that will both honor its legacy and pave the way for future milestones.
Industry insiders say that TAAI’s celebrations present an opportunity for travel professionals, government stakeholders and private sector partners to come together, share insights and chart a collective path forward for India’s rapidly evolving travel and tourism landscape.
