In a move reinforcing leadership continuity within Singapore’s tourism ecosystem, Kwee Eng Thien has been re-appointed as a Board Member of the Singapore Tourism Board.

Currently serving as Chief Executive Officer of Sentosa Development Corporation, Thien plays a central role in shaping one of Singapore’s most important leisure and tourism destinations. She is leading the ambitious Sentosa-Brani Master Plan, aimed at transforming the island cluster into a next-generation lifestyle and tourism hub.

Her re-appointment comes amid broader board-level changes across Singapore’s statutory agencies, signalling a strategic focus on stability and long-term planning within key economic sectors. For the travel, tourism, and MICE industry, this continuity is particularly significant as Singapore accelerates its recovery and growth trajectory post-pandemic while preparing for future demand cycles.

Industry stakeholders can expect stronger alignment between large-scale destination development and national tourism strategy. Thien’s dual role – overseeing Sentosa’s transformation while contributing at the national policy level – positions her to bridge infrastructure planning with tourism marketing and experience design.

Her continued presence on the STB board is also expected to support Singapore’s Tourism 2040 vision, which focuses on sustainable growth, innovation, and enhancing the country’s competitiveness as a global hub for business events and leisure travel.

With integrated leadership across destination assets and policy frameworks, Singapore is poised to further strengthen its value proposition for international visitors, investors, and event organizers, reinforcing its position as one of Asia’s most dynamic and future-ready tourism destinations.
