Hospitality major ITC Hotels Limited has signed definitive agreements with DSR Hospitality Services to launch two new properties under its Welcomhotel by ITC Hotels brand, one in Hyderabad (Telangana) and the other in Nellore (Andhra Pradesh).
The Hyderabad project, located in Panjagutta, will feature 117 guest rooms and include around 800 square metres of meeting and event space. Meanwhile, the Nellore property will offer 127 rooms and an expansive 2,600+ square metres of meeting space—underscoring its appeal for both leisure and business travellers.
This strategic move is part of ITC Hotels’ “asset-right” growth approach: expanding its footprint through management contracts rather than asset ownership, thereby enabling quicker entry into key regional markets while leveraging local hospitality developers.
Commenting on the development, Anil Chadha, Managing Director of ITC Hotels, said the collaboration “is a testament to our vision to pursue strategic growth into new cities and further strengthen ITCHL’s presence across India.” On their part, D Sudhakar Reddy, Managing Partner of DSR Hospitality Services, expressed delight at the partnership, noting their commitment to bring ITC’s renowned hospitality and food & beverage experiences to these markets.
With these signings, ITC Hotels signals a clear intent to deepen its engagement in the rapidly growing southern Indian hospitality market. Both Telangana and Andhra Pradesh have seen increased corporate investment, infrastructure development and tourism activity—factors that raise demand for premium hotel inventory. The Nellore property’s significant meeting-space offering in particular points to ambitions in MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences & Exhibitions) business.
Overall, this expansion aligns with ITC’s broader aim of scaling its Welcomhotel brand through collaborations, enabling brand visibility across new geographies while maintaining operational and service standards. With the two new additions, the group fortifies its southern portfolio and anticipates capitalizing on evolving travel and business trends in the region.
