The yearly Australian Tourism Export Council (ATEC) Meeting Place 2025 (MP25) has brought together more than 500 tourism leaders from Australia and around the world in Perth, Western Australia. It is a vital business-to-business (B2B) platform that will take place from October 27 to 29, 2025, with the goal of rebuilding and growing Australia’s foreign visitor economy. Since the major trade show’s founding in 1972, Perth has hosted it just twice, including this year.

Facilitating direct commercial connections is the main objective of the three-day event. An estimated 5,000 one-on-one business-to-business (B2B) meetings between Australian tourism suppliers and about 120 international buyers who represent important global distribution partners are scheduled, with a significant emphasis on deal-making. In order to increase future reservations and fortify Australia’s position in important foreign markets, this direct interaction is crucial. Delegates are taking part in industry panel discussions and a conference program in addition to the scheduled meeting sessions. To give international decision-makers a firsthand look at Western Australia’s distinctive tourism offerings, familiarization tours, which include a visit to Rottnest Island, have been added to the itinerary.

The occasion takes place as the inbound tourism industry experiences a resurgence of optimism. Over the past year, ATEC has seen a notable rise in membership and renewals, a figure that reflects rising optimism about the recovery of the tourism industry. The immediate economic value of hosting major association events is highlighted by the host state’s expectation that the influx of delegates will result in over $2 million in direct visitor spending for the local Western Australian economy. To maintain the long-term viability and competitiveness of Australia’s tourism export industry, strategic cooperation is still the main focus.
