OTOAI Leadership Meets Union Tourism Minister Shri Gajendra Singh Shekhawat

The Outbound Tour Operators Association of India (OTOAI) held a high-level meeting with Union Cabinet Minister for Culture & Tourism Shri Gajendra Singh Shekhawat to discuss critical issues impacting India’s outbound tourism sector.

During the interaction, the OTOAI delegation raised concerns regarding the Tax Collected at Source (TCS) on outbound travel, highlighting operational challenges being faced by tour operators. Minister Shekhawat listened attentively and engaged in a meaningful dialogue, assuring the delegation that the matter would receive careful consideration. The meeting underscored the Ministry’s willingness to support the travel trade and maintain open channels of communication.

The OTOAI team included Immediate Past President Mr. Riaz Munshi, Vice President Mr. Shravan Bhalla, General Secretary Mr. Sidharth Khanna, and Executive Committee Member Mr. Vineet Gopal.

OTOAI also extended an official invitation to Minister Shekhawat to attend the upcoming OTOAI Moscow Convention 2025 as the Guest of Honour. Scheduled from 10–13 July 2025, the convention aims to bring together over 180 delegates from India and Russia to foster new partnerships and promote bilateral tourism.

This meeting marks another important step in OTOAI’s ongoing advocacy efforts to improve policy frameworks and ensure a conducive environment for outbound tourism growth. With Minister Shekhawat’s leadership in the Culture & Tourism portfolio under the new government, the association is optimistic about meaningful progress.

OTOAI has been active in various industry forums, including its strong participation in SATTE 2025, and continues to work toward aligning the interests of outbound tour operators with evolving regulatory and market landscapes. The association remains committed to strengthening industry-government collaboration and promoting India’s outbound travel potential on the global stage.
